General
* One project, one task.
While you may be tempted to post a project that involves multiple tasks (ie. design a business card, logo, letter head, and website) the truth is that this can be disastrous in managing your contest! Post one contest per task and we'll all get along just fine. If you have multiple items that need to be designed, please contact us and we'll work something out!
* A creative community all about graphic design!
creative.gd is focused on all forms of graphic design. While in the future there may be an option for competitions regarding taglines, copywriting, etc. Today it's all about graphic design. In other words, don't go posting a contest for who can paint your house or build you a garden, let's keep it to graphic design!
* Nothing over PG-13.
If someone could get in trouble for seeing your post while at work then this is not the place. We can and will delete any inappropriate projects.
Feedback and Project Discussion
* Please: share your thoughts and feeling in the project discussion area.
The creatives depend on your feedback and direction as they attempt to create your work. If you post feedback on their submissions you'll get a better end result and more positive feedback. You should be checking your "My creative" dashboard at least once daily while your contest is going on!
* Don't muddy the water.
Creatives want clean constructive feedback to their design entries. The more detailed the feedback the better the entries become.
Prizes
* Will work for cash!
Designers love to get paid for their work! Once your project listing ends choose a winner so that we can pay your winning designer. If you choose a winner and happen to like a few other entries from other designers, feel free to try to negotiate with them for their entries. This is entirely up to you but you are required to choose 1 winner so that we can pay them the award promised!
* No hide and seek.
Creatives want to know what they're getting when they win. Make it clear in your description if you have other prizes or perks for the winner.
Fair Play / Copyright
* Pay before you publish.
There is a little rule that you should know: You shouldn't be using the material until you've choose the winning designer and they sent you the files!
* Only one account!
You should not attempt to have multiple account. You'll know it and more importantly we'll know it. Use one account and work on building a solid reputation with your username.
Withdrawing Contests
* Gotta run?
You are free to end your contest early if you need. You can select a winner and close it that way or even close it without selecting a winner but where is the fun in that? Ending it early can hurt your reputation and designers may not want to design for you in the future.
* Neglect always hurts.
Don't post a project and then simply ignore it. You should be monitoring it and supplying timely feedback to your designers so they can create what you want. If you post and neglect your posting you may be banned from posting in the future.
Transferring Artwork and Payment
* Choose the format you need.
Make sure you specify what format you'll be wanting the finished product in.
Things like logos should be delivered in a vector format as the final delivery. The default file formats are already included in the project listing so just go with that.
